Our History
NMHGA is incorporated as a 501C3 non-profit organization whose purpose is to assist and promote local growers and producers of culinary and medicinal herbs and herbal products. NMHGA is and has been Grant-Funded since it's beginning, with income from memberships and past events, such as the Seed Exchange and the Herbal Expo.

NMHGA Purposes and Objectives:
- To promote and develop the herb and specialty crop industry in New Mexico;
- To support herb growers in learning production, processing and marketing skills;
- To enable and strengthen networking among herb growers, processors and users;
- To educate the public about the benefits and enjoyment of culinary and medicinal herbs;
- To provide a unified voice and representation for herb growers, processors,
herbalists and traditional cultures regarding matters of policy, regulation and law;
- To foster a love of and respect for traditional plants and the cultures using them.
About Our Logo

Our original logo was a black and white design featuring the Yerba Mansa plant, a traditional medicinal herb found throughout the Southwest. You will still see it on our correspondence and letterhead, but we now have an updated color version for the web and for promotional materials.
